the koala conundrum

de vegades les coses que d'entrada semblen fàcils es compliquen molt

de vegades penso massa i quan penso massa m'equivoco, m'equivoco MOLT
sometimes I think too much, and when I think too much I got things wrong, WAY TOO wrong

2 - adquisició de materials - fil de cotó en dos tons de gris diferents - és lo que té comprar per internet, que no pots estar segur dels colors.

2 - purchase of materials - cotton yarn in two different shades of grey - because you can't be sure of colours when you buy online.

3 - dibuixar les formes que han de tenir les diferents peces, i començar a fer-les!!!

3 - draw the shapes of the different parts and start making them!!!

4 - fer cames una vegada, i una altra, i una altra, i una altra perque la primera semblava de vedette, la segona desnorida, la tercera un palo, la quarta... la quarta la veia vermella de la ràbia que tenia i de les ganes de cremar el fil i els dibuixos i els koales i...i...i...

4 - make the legs, once, twice, and again, and again, because the 1st one looked like a showgirl leg, the 2nd one underfed, the 3rd a stick... the 4th... the 4th I saw red due to the rage and to the longing for fire to burn the yarn, the drawings the koalas and... and... and...

de sobte entre la rojor irenca vaig veure la llum: els amigurumis són kawaii* i no pretenen representan la realitat tal qual, en fan una versió arrodonida i boniqueta

so I started again

1 - Recerca d'informació - Com és un Koala Kawaii?

1 - research - What do Kawaii Koalas look like?

2 - adquisició de materials - desfer les parts del projecte fiasco de la primera part del blog

2 - purchase of materials - unravel the pieces already done

3 - dibuixar les formes que han de tenir les diferents peces, i començar a fer-les ... un altre cop

3 - draw the shapes of the different parts and start making them AGAIN

4 - superar el moment de pànic "esto es un ratón y no un koala"

4 - get over the panic moment "this is a mouse, not a koala"

 

5 - ajuntar totes les peces, fer moltes fotos, i presumir de projecte acabat amb éxit!

5 - put all the pieces together, take a lot of pictures and brag about a project ended successfully!

6 - fer encara més fotos per demostrar que el conjunt es pot desmontar 

6 - take even more pictures to show that the whole thing can be take apart

7 - esperar a que el koala arribi al destinatari, alegrar-se de saber que li ha agradat (i ja te nom!) i publicar l'entrada al blog

7 - wait for the koala to reach its recipient, get really happy because she likes it (and it has a name already!) and publish a post at the blog.
