 Como cada año por estas fechas toca SORTEO!!!

Y para celebrarlo os presento mi nuevo proyecto, SKIN TONES

Un dia me di cuenta de que el color sonrosadito de todas mis muñecas no reflejaba la realidad de este nuestro variopinto planeta y empecé a estudiar diferentes gamas de colores y posibilidades. De momento este es el resultado.
Ahora empezaré a probar colores en sus hermanas grandotas.

One day I realized that the pink skin of all my dolls wasn't a good reflection of the diversity of our planet  so I started studying different yarn colour charts and different possibilities. And here's the results so far.
Now I'll start trying new colours in my big dolls as well.

I'm not a fan of Xmas, I don't like to be happy just because "it's the RIGHT thing to do"

But, If we must celebrate, let's do it properly.
And that's why, for four years in a row now, I've made a Christmas Ornament for every member of my family.
First year it was snowflakes, second baubles, third wreaths, and this year, bells.
I've used Drops Eskimo and the Purl Soho pattern for the little bell.

The fulling process was quite tedious and harsh with my hands, as always, but I like it. I like the feeling of the fabric getting thicker and the piece becoming smaller.
And I like to put them all on the table the 26th and to see them all hanging from trees and doors and lamps and windows and shelves.

Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head

L'altre dia havia de fer una classe d'amigurumis per principiants. No volia fer la típica boleta, volia una forma que em permetés ensenyar més coses, i vaig pensar, gotes d'aigua/pluja.
Fent una gota pots aprendre a augmentar, a minvar i com crear diferent formes combinant augments, minves i voltes normals, en aquest cas una (mitja) esfera i un con. A més com que per a fer el con les voltes amb minves no són consecutives el resultat és millor que les minves en una esfera quan estàs començant.
A més són boniquetes.

N'he fet una mena de patró, potser us fa servei.

So, the other day I had to teach an Amigurumi for beginners lesson. I didn't want to do the typical ball, I wanted a shape that allowed me to teach more than one thing, and then I thought, raindrops.
With a raindrop you can learn increases, decreases and how to create different shapes by combining increases, decreases and plain rounds, here a sphere (half) and a cone. Also, as in the cone the decrease rounds are not consecutive it looks better than the decreases of a sphere, made by a beginner.
And they're kind of cute.

Here's the pattern, maybe you'll find it useful too.

DEADPOOL & UNICORNS

Mentre sortíem del cine de veure Deadpool  ja tenia claríssim quin seria el regal d'aniversari de la Rosa. I al començament les coses van anar prou rodades i va semblar que estaria per la data que tocava al març però, life got in the way, i li he donat avui.

Deadpool (la peli) és genial, vam riure moltíssim! Està plena de referències a d'altres pelis i és pocasustància, entretinguda, boja, violenta, obertament sexual i molt divertida, per tenir té fins unicorns!  De Deadpool (el personatge) jo en sabia ben poc abans de la peli, bé, en sabia el que vaig aprendre (i he hagut de desaprendre) a X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Però sé que és un dels personatges preferits de la Rosa.

Així que el seu regal de cumple d'enguany ha estat un nino del Deadpool, amb lo seu unicorn, of course.

El nino està fet seguint el patró de les meves nines amb fil Paris de Drops i després porta tot de bocinets de feltre negre, vermell i marró cosits a sobre per a fer cinturons amb butxaquetes, bocins del traje, els ulls (com he patit amb els ulls deumeusinyor) i les fundes per les armes. Les catanes, el ganivet i la sivella estan fets amb una mena de plastilina que s'asseca a l'aire i queda com de goma (el meu nebot me'n va donar una miqueta per a que pogués jugar)

L'unicorn d'en Deadpool el vaig fer seguint el patró de Sweet N' Cute Creations amb Natura Just Cotton de DMC.

Una altra cosa que va passar  mirant Deadpool va ser que al Jordi se li va despertar com una mena de fòbia als unicorns, que mira que són bonics i no li fan mal a ningú. 

Així que vam començar una campanya de spam amb fotos variades i variopintes de ....unicorns of course, que de moment està en stand by, però pot tornar a posar-se en marxa qualsevol dia d'aquestos... QUE LO SEPAS

Quan es va apropar el seu cumple va estar cla-ri-ssim que calia posar un unicorn tangible a la seva vida, i li'n vam fer un, ben gran i atxuxable....perquè som booones persooones

El patró de l'unicorn del Jordi és Rainbow Cuddles de 1dogwoof i està fet amb Paris de Drops.

 Aquest SÍ que va arribar a temps pel cumple, yuhu!

Encara que la a la versió original té la cua i la crinera com l'arc de Sant Martí, vam decidir que tot rosa era més ...adequat.

PS - he escrit unicorn en contes de "unicornio" o "unicorni", i unicorns en contes de "unicornios" o "unicornis" però no m'agrada gens com sona. I penso continuar dient-lo malament. EA!

PS2 - Doncs diu la viquipèdia que també s'en pot dir Alicorn, d'un Unicorn... ja he aprés la cosa nova d'avui.....

mitenes per les nenes

M'agrada transformar patrons de mitjons en mitenes.

Pots utilitzar punts bonics (trenes, calats, etc) sense la complicació de girar talons i sense haver de patir per ficar hores de feina dins d'una sabata.

Aquestes mitenes van sen un encàrrec. La meva amiga Clara les volia per a les seves companyes Pastoretes de Pastorets Rock.

Són com una versió moderna de les mitenes tradicionals però canviant el ganxet i el fil per tricot i una barreja de seda i alpaca.

Malauradament no tinc cap foto de com van quedar acabades ara fa gairebé dos anys perquè ... si, sóc un desastre.

Les comparteixo malgrat el desfase temporal perquè m'agrada molt com van quedar.

El patró és una adaptació de Running Gag de QueenieKnits que podeu trobar a  Knitty.

Aqui les podeu veure durant el procés de "blocking" o enformat.

Les primeres per l'esquerra abans, les segones  ficades en unes formes que em vaig fabricar amb unes estovalles individuals de plàstic i les terceres ja seques.

Enformar les peces ja acabades sempre és important per a que llueixi la nostra feina, però ho és encara més quan el disseny porta trenes o calats.

Crec que la diferència entre l'abans i el després és prou evident.

Així que animeu-vos i vestiu les vostres mans amb dissenys pensats pels vostres peus!

Love Stories

La meua familia de ninos va començar amb una parella de nuvis per a la Laia, per a la seva parada al DeNuvis.

Des d'aleshores fins ara n'he fet uns quants, de nuvis, pero aquest estiu a la boda de la Miriam i l'Àlex ha estat la primera vegada que he vist "en vivo y en directo" una entrega a destinatari.

Encara que vaig passar una mica de vergonyeta perquè una és asocial de mena i no se li donen bé aquestes coses, va ser emocionant. Va ser un feedback genial i una pujada  d'autoestima increïble, mai hauria pensat que un dels meus ninos podia aportar tanta felicitat!

Inspirada per l'experiència he fet un recull de tots els nuvis que he fet fins ara, en plan retrospectiva amb una sorpreseta al final ;)

I PER ACABAR, PRESENTANT EN SOCIETAT A MR. I MRS. POTATO, uns ninos que mai hauria pensat a fer i que van ser tot un repte. Ben aviat penjaré el seu patró en una entrada per a ells sols, que bé que se la mereixen.

Holly Wreaths Galore or The Ghost Of Xmas Past

For three years now I've made Xmas ornaments for the whole family.

They find the new model waiting for them at the Boxing Day dinner table (and the ones that can't come ask for them later).

They have snowflakes and baubles and this year I've made holly wreaths from (almost) scratch.

First I made rings out of wire. I wrapped the wire around a sturdy cardboard tube and cut it into nice rings with my super steel wire cutter!!!

Then I closed the tiny gaps with hot glue.

I created my holly berries with the strawberry stitch by Lin.

Here's the pattern/formula I used. The number of stitches will depend on your yarn and your ring.

My rings diameter was 6 cms and I used Drops Paris with a 5mm crochet hook.

HOLLY WREATH

with green

1 - 60 sc into ring, 1 sl st

add red

2 - (1 strawberry stitch, 2 dc, 2 dc in the same st, 2 dc) x10

I started round 2 with the 2dc in the same st (start the round with 3 chains, close it with a sl st)

3 -  green sc around , 1 sl st

4 - green reverse sc around and end with a 15ch  loop to hang it from the tree.

Es el tercer año que hago adornos de navidad para toda la familia.
Encuentran el modelo nuevo esperándolos en la mesa para Sant Esteve (y los que no vienen lo reclaman luego).
Ya tienen copos de nieve y bolas y este año he hecho guirnaldas de acebo (casi) desde cero.

Lo primero fue hacer los anillos de alambre. Los hice enroscandolo alrededor de un tubo de cartón recio, creando una espiral. Después lo corté en anillos con mi super cizalla y usé un poco de cola caliente para cerrarlos.

Para las bayas de acebo usé el punto de fresas de Lin.

Y  aqui está la fórmula/patrón que usé. El número de puntos depende del grosor de la lana y de diámetro del anillo, claro.

Mis anillos tienen un diámetro de 6 cms y usé Drops Paris con un ganchillo de 5mm.

GUIRLANDA DE ACEBO

con verde

1 - 60 p.b. en el anillo, cerrar con un p.e.

añadir rojo

2 - (1 punto fresa, 2 p.a., 2 p.a. en el  mismo p.b., 2 p.a.) x 10

Yo empecé la segunda vuelta en  2 p.a. en el  mismo p.b (empezar la vuelta con 3 cads, cerrarla con un p.e.)

3 - 1 cad, p.b. en verde toda la vuelta, cerrar con un p.e.

4 - 1 cad, punto de cangrejo, acabar con una presilla de 15 cads para colgarla del arbol.

I've cloned dolls and hats, and cactus, and shawls and koalas so far
and I think I'm missing something...

y creo que me olvido alguno...

A Forest In Silk

It was love at first sight.

Leaves in a lacy web, Forest Foliage indeed.

The pattern asks for fingering yarn but  this Tussah Silk by Dye for Yarn had been around for too long already.

The winding process took forever, and when I was done, I had this thing that ressembled a cocoon of undyed silk.
Then it was time to fetch the felt pens and start colouring charts.
I love colouring complicated charts and using tiny post-its to mark my place in them.

And then, row by row, the leaves started making its appearance.
I love my knit pro needles, by the way. They make knitting lace as easy as pie, and as enjoyable.

It was so easy that I could do it while watching japanese cartoons* in the vernacular AND drinking tea.

That was until I reached the last two rows.
The last two rows were nightmarish.
They took forever and were a quite complicated bind-off.
The results are, however, worth the madness.
Here you can see the finished shaw before and while blocking.

And here you have it i all its ready to wear awesomeness.
Now to wait for a suitable occasion to brag about it all over town.
