We are more alike than unlike, my dear Captain. I have pores. Humans have pores. I have... fingerprints. Humans have fingerprints. My chemical nutrients are like your blood. If you prick me ... do I not ... leak?

I made a Data doll for my friend Georgina.
She turned 40 (uuups was it a secret?) last December and was quite upset by the 4 thing, so, to cheer her up I tried to remind her that age is relative and that playing with dolls and act child-like from time to time is good for the soul.

Data is her all-times favourite Star Trek character, so it was easy to decide what doll should I made.

The making was not that easy.
where laid the problem? in the stranded part, of course.
jacquard crochet has a natural tendency to slant the colour changes. You can diminish it by working just the through the back loop of the stitches, but you can't get a perfect square. 
so, getting the two coloured part of the uniform right wasn't easy. 
then, invisible decreases aren't really invisible when you work just through the back loop.

Everything said and done, I'm quite happy with the results.

Vaig fer un nino del Data per la meva amiga Georgina.

La Georgina va fer 40 anys ( uppps, era un secret?) el Decembre passat i estava moixa amb lo de canviar de dècada. O sigui que per a animar-la vaig provar de recordar-li que l'edat és relativa i que jugar amb nines i comportar-se com un infant de tant en tant és bo per l'ànima.

El Data sempre ha estat el seu personatge preferit de Star Trek, per aixó decidir quin nino fer-li va ser fàcil.

Fer-lo no ho va ser tant.

On rau el problema? en el bocí de jacquard.

el jacquard de ganxet té una tendència natural a la diagonal en els canvis de color. Es pot minimitzar treballant els punts agafant només el fil del darrera, però inclús fent aixó, no pots aconseguir fer un quadrat perfecte.

o sigui que fer aquesta part de l'uniforme no va ser fàcil.

a més a més, minvar de forma invisible és més complicat si només treballes el fil de darrera dels punts.

considerant tot aixó, estic prou contenta amb el resultat.
